Getting Started
Get your SnapOS store live in under 10 minutes. This guide walks you through creating an account, setting up your business, and making your first sale.
1. Create Your Account
- 1
Open the app or visit snapos.app
Tap 'Get Started Free' or open the SnapOS mobile app. You can sign up with your email or use Google Sign-In.
- 2
Enter your email and verify it
We'll send a 6-digit verification code to your email. Enter it on the next screen to confirm your address.
- 3
Fill in your business details
Enter your business name and choose your store type (Retail, Restaurant, Pharmacy, etc.). This helps us pre-configure your catalogue templates.
- 4
Set a strong password
Choose a password with at least 6 characters. You can always change it later in Account Settings.
Your business code is auto-generated and displayed in Settings → Business. Staff will need this code to join your store on shared devices.
2. Set Up Your Terminal
- 1
Launch the app and sign in
Use the email and password you just created. On first launch, the app prompts you to configure a terminal.
- 2
Enter a terminal name
Give this device a recognisable name, e.g. 'Counter 1' or 'Mobile POS'. This appears on receipts and shift reports.
- 3
Confirm the setup
Tap 'Save Terminal'. Your device is now registered and linked to your business. You're ready to sell.
3. Add Your First Product
- 1
Go to Items (inventory icon in the sidebar)
Tap the 'Items' section from the main navigation.
- 2
Tap 'Add Product' (or the + button on mobile)
Fill in the product name, price, and optional stock count. You can also import from a CSV or a catalogue template.
- 3
Save the product
Your product immediately appears on the POS screen, ready to be added to a sale.
Use 'Import from Catalog' to instantly populate your store with common products for your business type — no manual entry needed.
4. Open the Cash Register
- 1
Navigate to Register
Tap 'Register' in the sidebar. If the register is closed, you'll see a prompt to open it.
- 2
Enter your opening cash amount
Type the amount of cash you're starting the day with. This becomes your opening balance for shift reconciliation.
- 3
Tap 'Open Register'
The register is now open. Cash sales will be tracked against this session until you close it at end of shift.
5. Make Your First Sale
- 1
Go to the POS screen
Tap 'POS' in the navigation. You'll see your product catalogue grid.
- 2
Add items to the cart
Tap any product to add it. The cart appears on the right (desktop) or as a floating button (mobile).
- 3
Tap 'Checkout'
Select your payment method (Cash, Card, UPI), confirm the amount, and tap 'Confirm Payment'. A receipt is ready to print or share.
